The BMW 440i is configured to receive modest updates for the 2018 model year. According to the specifications released for the European version, key changes should involve a restyled front fascia, a re-adjusted suspension and minor interior adjustments.

The changes are not only about the appearance, but also include the dynamics of the chassis re-worked and the electronics updated. Cosmetically, from the front, the new BMW 4 Series gets new standard LED headlights with adaptive LEDs as an option and have been operated on our test car. The front apron was slightly modified, as was the rear apron on the car. Two new colors are available Snapper Rocks Blue, which looks fabulous in the sun against the back fall of the mountains, and Sunset Orange. Inside, BMW developed a new, more digital instrument cluster than the previous one, but displays a tachometer and a speedometer in a traditional style graphic. The Head-Up display projects your current speed as well as the existing speed limit and remains the best in the business. The interior materials have been refined and move upward with applications in high gloss black and chrome.

The engine specifications will see no major changes to the 3.0-liter TwinPower engine of the current car rated at 320 hp with a torque of 330 lb.-ft. For reference, the cheaper BMW 430 currently uses a 2.0-liter TwinPower crusher producing 248 horsepower with 258 lb.-ft. Both cars offer a standard 8-speed automatic transmission, although a 6-speed manual is available.

The BMW 440i 2018 will go on sale in March. Based on our analysis, bids on the 2017 model continue to be dull, although this will likely change over the next 3-4 months. The official 2018 pricing will start at $ 49,695 with the destination of the coupe and $ 58,495 for the convertible. The All-Wheel Drive option adds $ 2,000 to either style.
