The next generation of BMW X3 will make its official debut later this year. Although it is still some time, the German car giant has trained us with very cool official pictures (pun) of the luxury SUV in the snow covered area of Arjeplog, in northern Sweden during the tests Winter. The X3 is BMW’s medium-sized luxury SUV and is currently in its second generation.
2018 Bmw X3 Design
As we said, the BMW X3 2018 will definitely use a more sporty design. This has been quite clear since the first test mule was spy tested. The car has a longer wheelbase than the current model, shorter rear overhangs, a shorter front end and possibly a sloping roof. The latter has only recently been noticed on the last prototype. In fact, most experts in the industry expect BMW to offer a car very similar to the Porsche Macan with at least the same proportions. However, we are quite sure that BMW is going to have things a little further than that. To begin with, it will have much more in common with Series 5 and 7 in terms of design than with Series 3. In addition, the car will feature unique design marks such as the aforementioned slanted roof or even the broad and muscular position . The design may change until it is presented, but we have a good idea of the finished product.
2018 BMW X3 Interior
We managed to take a top in the BMW X3 2018 and it looks very promising. Most of them were covered with thick blankets, but some things were revealed. For starters, the central stack seems to be different from what is currently available on a BMW car. The HVAC vents are new and the LCD panels are quite identical to what Mercedes offers on their cars. The group of instruments also seems new. Despite two round dials, these seem to be part of an LCD screen that could be customizable in the finished version of the car. This exact interior could also be used on the future X4.
2018 Bmw X3 Engine
In terms of powertrains, the BMW X3 2018 is expected to offer a range of four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The first will probably be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission while the latter will be coupled to a new nine-speed automatic transmission. All powertrain options come with fuel-saving technologies. In addition, BMW can also unveil a hybrid variant of the compact crossover with up to 300 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.
