The mid-size SUV Buick Avenirmay look cleanest on highways, with a new look and a host of other new features when it goes on sale this fall.
Buick revealed on Tuesday the Enclave Future in New York in 2018 ahead of the New York International Auto Show.
2018 Buick Avenir Design
As a new level of finish of the brand, everything that is normally optional in the Enclave is standard in the Future, as well as exclusive content. And this is just the first application of the Future Package for Buick – expect the rest of the TriShield brand products to get a similar reconversion in a timely manner.
All Buick Future models will get what the brand calls a three-dimensional mesh grid with a new set of chrome wings. From there, the Enclave edition features unique 20-inch nickel wheels, a rear camera mirror like the one seen from Cadillac, and a new type of LED spotlights that use something like Evonik Acrylite lighting technology. An air ionizer in the car promises to keep the cabin smelling fresh.
2018 Buick Avenir Interior
Expect the inside to be easier. The 8-inch cluster screen is reconfigurable and there is a wireless load if your phone supports it. The 8-inch touch screen infotainment system includes GM standards such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the Teen Driver feature, which helps parents to monitor their children once they have returned the keys. Also standard is the vibrating security alert seat that lets you know when you have moved away from a lane or approach a vehicle too quickly. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is also available for the ride.

For those who suffer from allergies or for those who just want a cool car at all times, the Enclave Future has an air ionizer. The negatively charged particles tie up airy villains and decompose them, according to Buick, which results in cleaner air for the cabin. The system requires no maintenance or replacement of the filter.
2018 Buick Avenir Engine
Under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6 engine, good for 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Power comes to the pavement thanks to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. Buick estimates that the front wheel Enclave Avenir will see 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg combined, the model with driving wheels being slightly lower. The Enclave Avenir can also tow 5,000 respectable books.
There is no word on prices yet, but wait until the 2018 Buick Avenir is on sale in the fall of 2017.
