The 2018 Buick Regal is the medium sized front or four-wheel drive sedan that fits between the compact Buick Verano and the Buick LaCrosse sedans. The 2018 Buick Regal is brand new and shares much of its foundation and style with the European market Opel Insignia.

Buick ambitiously targets the Audi A4 Allroad, BMW 3 Series Sport Wagon and Volvo V60 Cross Country as a competitive set of Regal TourX, but it’s actually a much wider vehicle, covering 196.3 inches. It is more than 9 inches more than the A4 Allroad, its biggest rival, and more than 2 feet more than the BMW. Predictably, this gives the TourX a considerable advantage in the cargo space, which exceeds 73.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Other less affordable transverse stores include the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack and the Subaru Outback, the latter of which is also based on an overseas wagon. The Subaru is certainly grateful for its cross-references and should have a lot more off-road skills than this Buick.

Anyway, the Regal TourX will be available with a battery of technology products. A 7-inch infotainment screen comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility, and an 8-inch integrated navigation unit is also available, as is a premium Bose sound system that includes active noise cancellation. Unusually for the class, a Wi-Fi 4G LTE access point will also be standard equipment.
On the front of the advanced safety equipment, all TourX models are equipped with an active hood to stop pedestrian injuries. When an impact of mankind is detected between 16-30 mph, a small pyrotechnic discharge is triggered, jumping the rear edge of the 4-inch hood to dampen the blow. It is a technology rarely seen for this market end, and it probably appeared here because the Opel Insignia on which this car is based is designed to meet Euro crash standards for pedestrians. In fact, it should be noted that the TourX will be built in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
Other active safety features available include lane change and blind alerts, rear alert and rear park assist, all packaged in an option package. A secondary grouping adds automatic braking for pedestrians, a track guidance aid, a forward collision warning and an adaptive cruising with automatic brake.
2018 Buick Regal Powertrain
The Buick Regal 2018 can be delivered as standard with Malibu’s 163-hp, powered by a 1.5 liter four-stroke turbocharger coupled with an automatic transmission to drive the front wheels. Much more attractive is the idea of a 2.0-liter turbo four producing between 260 and 300 horsepower coupled, as is the case in the Insignia, to a wheel drive system incorporating the same rear differential with vector coupler Supplied by GKN used in the Ford Focus RS. Given that Buick has killed the manual transmission version of the previous Regal GS for 2015, we are delighted to say that a stick change option is unlikely.
Arrival and Estimated Prices
At the end of this year, in the same price range as the current Regal, which ranges from just under $ 30,000 to just over $ 40,000.
