Chevrolet Bolt is previously mentioned as a concept car that finally gets a production version. It is a pure electric car that is different from its cousin, model Volt. However, this name confuses the customer, especially with fans of GMC. In addition, the 2018 Chevrolet Bolt comes on the market in the form of a subcompact that will fight with Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model 3. The body structure will probably be built on its own platform by GM Korea Studio.
2018 Chevrolet Bolt Design
No major changes are expected on the Chevrolet Volt for the 2018 model year. Still relatively cool from its latest redesign, the popular plug-in should continue with the same equipment and features.
In terms of design, no major changes are expected. The interior of the car reflects a style found on other Chevy models involving a large “floating” touch screen and easy-to-use controls. For 2017, support has been added to both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and owners with a compatible data plan are able to take advantage of the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. Drivers with rear passengers may find that Volt’s 5-person layout is more appropriate than the 4-person configuration of Prius Prime.

Safety is an area in which the Volt shines when fully equipped. On the current car, the Premier model receives optional driver confidence packages with driver assistance features such as frontal collision alert, emergency automatic brake, navigation aid and more.
2018 Chevrolet Bolt Engine
Under the hood, a compact electric motor runs silently and develops a range of 200 miles. Unlike the Volt model which has a smaller range, the new Bolt can finally “fight” with Tesla and other respectable electric cars. The Chevrolet Bolt 2018 includes a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery with 288 cells per production of LG Chem. The electric motor produces about 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, respectively. The acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is less than 7 seconds while the maximum speed is 91 mph. Exclusive for this first, the automaker is preparing SAE Combo DC fast charging. The transmission of the torque from the electric motor to the wheels is done with the electronic change of precision.
2018 Chevrolet Bolt Price and Date of Release
GM has not yet announced an official release date for the Chevy Volt 2018. However, production is expected to begin in July 2017, which is likely to result in a sale date in August. Prices have not yet been published. For reference, the Voltaire 2017 starts at $ 34,095 with the destination and varies up to $ 38,445 for the Premier-Specifications Premier. According to the typical pricing strategy of GM, we do not expect a sharp rise in prices for 2018.
