The Lamborghini Huracán Performante did not waste time to live in his name. Before the official unveiling, the already sliced Lambo has already made headlines with the claim to beat the Nürburgring lap record for a production car with a time of 6:52:01, about five full seconds faster than The previous record, The Porsche 918 Spyder. We will probably have to wait until Lightning Lap XII in 2018 to see if this Lambo can break our record of 918 laps at Virginia International Raceway. Even being in the same ballpark with the million-dollar 918 makes the Performant one of the most dynamic and fastest cars ever made.
2018 Lamborghini Huracan Design
The aim of the Performance is to find a balance between an excellent road car and a suitable track machine. The body relies on lightweight aluminum and forged Lamborghini composite, which is a derivative of fast-curing carbon fiber. Forged composite bits include rear bumper, engine cover, spoilers and diffuser. All in, it helps the car poured about 80 pounds.
The interior also features forged composites in the air vents, shift paddles, door handles and center console. The rest of the Lambo’s entrails are lined with Alcantara suede and leather. The gauge group screen has a chart that tells you how the car’s systems are working to improve handling, which does not seem to bother at all, and the infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay.
To help the car get the most out of every situation, the Huracan Performant plays some aerobatic parts. There are active shutters in the front spoiler that can create downforce for driving the track, or open for drag reduction when racing at top speed. The active active aero from the rear opens the flaps under the heavy throttle to reduce drag by directing the air flow both through and below the wing, effectively removing the support from the wing, Wing when it is not necessary.
2018 Lamborghini Huracan Engine
The improved engine 2018 Lamborghini Huracán naturally aspirated is the most powerful V10 produced to date by Lamborghini. With a power output of 640 hp (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 600 Nm at 6,500 rpm, it is distinguished by a new bronze manifold that relies on the heritage of the engines of edition Special such as the 30th Anniversary Diablo power station. Powertrain relies on sophisticated technologies, including the developments of Lamborghini motorsports program. The engine fluid dynamics for both intake and exhaust have been optimized, as has the V10 air intake system with reduced loss, improving reactivity. New titanium valves allow for higher valve lifts to increase engine permeability and performance.
The powerful engine of the car produces an optimized torque curve, with more than 70% of the torque already available at 1000 rpm. The Lamborghini has also optimized its dual clutch transmission to seven speeds to meet the increased performance. The dry weight of Performance is only 1,382 kg, giving a weight / power ratio of 2.16 kg. The weight distribution front and rear is 43/57%. By accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, the Huracán Performante is propelled from 0 to 200 km / h in 8.9 seconds, and brakes from 100-0 km / h to 31 m.
