Envelopes came out of the 2018 Lexus NX SUV model presented at the Shanghai Auto Show in China recently, showing a new net look that concealed a range of new safety features.

For the updated NX, the face of the car gets a more streamlined look while the available LED headlights receive triple headlights similar to those we see in the LC headlight coupe. It should also be noted that the chrome and satin fittings were applied to the grid treatment in addition to the new vertical elements added to the inner part. The rear has also been adjusted with a new design of bumpers and extended taillights. The exhaust tips have also been made larger and are now integrated into the rear bumper. Buyers looking for a few extra spices can add an F-Sport package. It adds a more pronounced mesh grid with black accents. It also adds specific F-Sport wheels and metal accents for the cab.

In the cabin of the standard NX, most equipment has a metallic satin finish while the HVAC system controls have been simplified by exchanging four easy-to-use rocker switches with a tiny “L” on their surface. The clock in the dashboard is now easier to read and buyers opting for the complete infotainment system will receive a 10.3-inch screen instead of the previous 7.0-inch unit.
On the center console, the remote touch pad has been enlarged and redesigned for easier operation, and the palm rest has been redesigned to improve wrist comfort. The wireless charger tray also has increased in size to accommodate larger mobile devices and USB charging ports provide more juice for faster charging. The updated NX also has a foot sensor under the rear bumper for hands-free operation of the tailgate.
The final change to mention is the inclusion of the Lexus + security system as a standard feature of electronic assistance for drivers, which includes adaptive speed control, a collision warning and a lane departure warning.
2018 Lexus NX 200t Engine
Name change notwithstanding, the new NX continued with the 2.0-liter 2.0-liter 250-horsepower 2.0-liter engine and the 6-speed automatic transmission. The AWD’s NX 300h combines its 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder with the 194-horsepower Lexus Hybrid Drive. The output is delivered via a dedicated automatic CVT. No information has been published regarding prices or the date of sale of the 2018 Lexus NX models.
The updated 2018 Lexus NX will go on sale later this year, as a 2018 model. Prices will be announced closer to market launch.
