It seems that the news of the Opel Ampera-e 2018 is over, so let us see what they have to show. Fans of electric cars are at your disposal, while everyone could simply ignore this one for now.
2018 Opel Ampera E Outside
Some people compare the 2018 Opel Ampera-e with Chevrolet Bolt, and there are both are quite similar both in appearance and in the engine department. As for the Ampera-e, it is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible to compensate for the extra weight of the batteries and the lower center of mass. This has not been costly, however, it is far from being as visually appealing as it should be. The headlights and taillights both feature high-quality LED technology, and the grid with its air barrier is very familiar. The badge is different and just compensate for the annoying exterior.

Again, if the choice you need to make is the Ampera-e, relatively affordable but unsightly, or a pretty but expensive electric car like Tesla, it’s an easy choice for most. For one, it will most likely use a floating dash and the infotainment system will be first-rate. Remember, this is an electric car, so comfort and reliability are its main points of sale.

This means excellent connectivity, including Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. Of course, it is supposed to consume the least amount of energy possible, so do not exhaust your battery in advance. Integrated navigation should be useful, as is the 4G LTE access point. The color scheme is mainly green and silver, but a number of trimmings will be available. Overall, we are looking for quality black leather for silver-colored furnishings and inserts for a sleek, stylish look.
2018 Opel Ampera E Performance
Although many consider the Opel Ampera as a commercial flop, GM insists that the original Ampera has provided them with a tremendous expertise in electrification that serves as a reference for upcoming electric models, including the Ampera-e.
Unlike the Opel Ampera, powered by a PHEV power train, the new Ampera-e has an all-electric drive train. The model has the same configuration as Chevrolet Bolt. The electric motor produces 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The engine is supported by a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery that is mounted under its floor to maximize cabin space.
The automaker remained mummy about its range but we expect a 200 mile range on a full charge just like the Chevrolet. The Ampera-e goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds and will have a maximum speed of 91 mph.
The release date is probably the end of 2017 or early 2018, depending on your location. The price is expected to start at $ 40,000.
