The monstrous SUV Sequoia Toyota becomes more aggressive for the 2018 Toyota Sequoia model year with the addition of a new TRD Sport model. The new trim level makes its debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, and pumps a bit of life in this generation model that has been around since 2008.

The 2018 Toyota Sequoia is even more truck-like in appearance than Toyota’s mid-size Highlander crossover. Outdoor changes include new LED headlamps (now standard), daytime running lights and fog lights, as well as three new exterior colors: Midnight Black Metallic, Shoreline Blue Pearl and Toasted Pearl Walnut. Each balance level also gets its own specific grid design as well. The TRD Sport features a new front bumper, 20-inch black alloy sports wheels, tail light smoke lenses and shiny black mirror caps.

The interior changes are much more limited, and the larger is a redesigned dashboard to fit a new multi-information display for the driver; It controls the security features added. The current generation of the Toyota Sequoia has been around since the 2008 model year, but it is still very powerful and spacious three-row full-size SUV. The Toyota Sequoia 2018 continues with the 5.7L V8 which produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and coupled to the 6-speed automatic transmission. Some improvements to the TRD Sport improve handling, with the addition of Bilstein TRD Sport shock absorbers and TRD front and rear anti-swing bars.
