Despite what the rumors said, Volkswagen will offer us a second generation of the four-door DC coupe. The road tests began several months ago and should be completed next year.
2018 Volkswagen CC Design
The 2018 Volkswagen CC looks sporty and we tested it in the VW facilities at the Nurburgring. At the front, the aggressive vanguard of the sedan features two LED headlights similar to those of the Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE Concept, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last year. The windows could be lower, wider and longer than before. By keeping the sloping roofline of the CC, the sedan maintains an elegant profile suited to a four-door coupe.

At the rear, the taillights mimic Audi’s current design that is more modern than previous models. The Sport Coupe concept had a lever lever instead of an ordinary trunk, which is repeated to make its way to the next CC. With heavy camouflage, it’s hard to tell if the new CC will have a chest or a lever. But if the contour shaped like a massive zipper on the back means something, the next-generation sedan could abandon the conventional trunk for a more spacious lifting port.
2018 Volkswagen CC Drivetrain
That’s where things are a bit interesting. The current DC is offered here in the US with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that offers 200 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V-6 that offers 280 horsepower. The new CC, however, should use the same platform as the Passat which is offered with 1.8 liters that offers 170 horsepower or the same 3.6-liter with 280 ponies. Expect to see a similar offer when this model starts in production form but think about each offering a little extra power to help give the new CC a little more edge on the current model. The power will be routed to the front wheels, with offset functions handled by a six-speed automatic DSG. Some models, I offer Tiptronic and sport mode as optional equipment.
2018 Volkswagen CC Price
At the time of writing, the 2018 Volkswagen CC starts at $ 31,570 for the CC 2.0T. Switching to the CC R-Line 2.0T comes with a starting price of $ 34,665 while the CC V6 starts at $ 44,355. As for the next generation model, it is difficult to say where prices will start now, but expect to see a slight increase in price
