The car should appear alongside the Q8 standard anytime next year. In addition, the car would be joined by a full Q8 RS that has already been filed in previous years.
We know that the latest prototype is for an 2020 Audi SQ8 because of the integrated dual exhaust tips on each side of the rear fascia. The prototype is also much lower than the first testers for the standard Q8.
To differentiate the eventual RS Q8, it would require a more aggressive front fascia, flared fenders, a pair of oversized oval exhaust tips (one on each side of the rear bumper) and reinforced wheels, tires and brakes. The Q8 Sport concept at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show offers a glimpse of what a Q8 Audi Sport might look like.
With a focus on the 2020 Audi SQ8 powertrain, the Q8 Sport concept could be a source of inspiration. To highlight its powerful performance, the 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine is paired with an electric motor to generate a combined horsepower of 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. This setup works wonderfully with the 0-60 mph acceleration run in a brief 4.7 seconds.
