Last summer, President Johan de Nysschen Cadillac confirms that the automaker will kill part of the sedan and replace it with a new 2020 Cadillac CT5. Models such as ATS, CTS and XTS will end, paving the way for new mid-size offers.
2020 Cadillac CT5 Redesign
Moving through the fake bodywork, we can see that this 2020 Cadillac CT5 is inspired by the Cadillac Escala concept. It has a long cab, almost a rear and an extra rear window of this concept. The lighthouses are also thin, although they still sweep a bit to bridge the gap between the current model and Escala. We also see that there is a considerable distance between the front axle and the base of the A column, so we think the sedan will retain powertrains and optional rear-wheel drive.
Cadillac CT5 2020 Interior
We can not see inside, but the Cadillac Escala concept is likely to show the way here too. This concept displays a large bar that covers the width of the dashboard and is divided by three individual screens. This concept also includes a rotary controller in the center console. There will be a lot of technology in CT5, too, including awesome self-driving Super Cruise system for a Cadillac road.
The roofline flows backwards in a more subtle way than we currently see from ATS and CTS. This gives the sportback vehicle profile as seen in models such as the BMW 4 Series Grand Coupe, the Audi A5 Sportback and the new Buick Regal Sportback. But while all these vehicles have lifting functions, we believe that 2020 Cadillac CT5 will stay with traditional rods.
2020 CT5 Engine
2020 Cadillac CT5 should be offered with a choice of four powertrains. Starting with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capacity, this range should consist of a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6, 6.2-liter V8, and a hybrid powertrain plug-in which depend on LTG 2.0 liters. Also possible is a twin-turbocharged V6 3.0-liter and 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8, although it remains to be seen what the Caddy to CT5.
