The automaker recently announced at the Beijing Motor Show that 2020 Ford Explorer will be revealed next year as a 2020 model. More importantly, Ford also stated that Explorer is one of America’s most nameplates to be Chinese-made. Like Bronco, teaser photos published by Ford show a new generation Explorer hidden under a blue blanket. Although it does not show much, we have an idea of what the future browsers look like.
2020 Ford Explorer Redesign
Shown under the leaf, the teaser image does not reveal much, it shows that the model will have a relatively smooth front fascia with a soft curve. Furthermore, we can see a relatively short hood and a slightly scratched windscreen that fills the sloping roof. This model also seems to have a roof rack and belt line sweeping up. Elsewhere, there is a pronounced wheel arch and a relatively straight truck.
Explorer 2020 Platform
A few things about the Ford Explorer design can be collected across the sheet, but in its profile, it looks very similar to the Lincoln Aviator concept introduced at the New Auto 2018 International Exhibition. This model will replace the Lincoln MKT in range, and both should share the same CD6 platform capable of supporting the vehicle in front, rear and four-wheel drive. The 2020 Ford Explorer seems to have the same uphill and downhill lines, a sloping roof down and a huge round wheel arch.
2020 Ford Explorer Engine
Ford has confirmed that the next Explorer generation will be built in China and the company has said that the model will be launched in the United States next year. An ST Explorer will soon follow and is planned to use a 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo engine that is shared with Lincoln Continental and Lincoln MKZ.
The engine produces 400 horsepower and 542 Nm of torque. If these numbers are found in the ST Explorer, the model will be much more powerful than the current Explorer Sport which has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 developing 365 hp and 474 Nm of torque.

SUVs will be built and sold in China, and the United States is expected to arrive next year. Rumors also point to a new rear-modular CD6 modular CD6 platform that will also support the Lincoln SUV as part of Ford’s $ 5 billion investment in its luxury brand.
2020 Ford Explorer Release Date
