The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV 2018 has been spotted in southern Europe, which seems to be the second phase of the road test model after a walk close to the Mercedes research and development center in Germany.
Mercedes GLE 2018 Design
The test car features a new nose design, which, although it is camouflaged, appears to have a larger hood and new headlights. We have to wait less for the car’s grid, because one of these cars is identical to the current model, with a pair of horizontal slats and a large Mercedes-Benz badge in the middle. On the side, much of the design of this test car is also the same as today’s model. The most important change is that of the new arch lips which give the car a more robust position and suggest that its track might be slightly wider. The overall wheelbase of the car could be longer too, because the test car looks to have a shorter front overhang. At the rear, the window is more ramped than the current model, and it is safe to assume that the design of the taillights has also been altered.
Mercedes GLE 2018 Inside
Inside, the interior of the new car looks more like the current E-Class show than the SUV GLE coming out. Two large digital screens dominate the dashboard of the new car, while a set of four thin air intakes mounted above the minimalist center console replaces the larger and more vertical items of the older model. The interior of the new GLE seems to have the same 12.3-inch screens as the E-Class lounge. A pair of large handles mounted in the center console makes it possible to differentiate the interior of this SUV from the E-Class. Naked plastic molding is visible in these images but, when the finished car is on sale, this will probably be reduced to plastic or soft leather.

Mercedes GLE 2018 Engine
The new Mercedes GLE 2018 would have been offered with an air suspension system similar to the old car, but will be backed up by a brand new MHA platform. This new chassis will allow the German brand to adapt to a selection of six-cylinder engines recycled in place of the old car. With regard to powertrains, an updated list of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines and a new hybrid option are expected. The new Mercedes-Benz turbocharged V8 will almost certainly be present in the AMG GLE 63 model.
